DOES MY BUSINESS NEED A WEBSITE?
We believe that every business needs a website, it is one of the most cost effective marketing tools available to a business.
A business needs to look at their website as if it is just another form of advertisement, in reality it is really no different
than an ad that you place in a newspaper or a magazine. As with all advertising you have one goal in mind – to increase
your company's profits.
The Internet has revolutionized the world just like the telephone, the radio, and television
did in their day, they each changed the way a business operates. The Internet continues to grow
and it's not going to go away. Lets look at what people are doing with the Internet:
- Shopping
- Banking
- Bill paying
- Search for products and services
- Entertainment
- And much more ...
One way or another, almost everyone is using the Internet. The more you think about it shouldn't
your business be on the Internet too.
WHY ADVERTISE USING A WEBSITE?
Websites have several advantages that other forms of advertising can not match.
- Websites are interactive, they give your customers 24 hour access to your business. It doesn't
matter where you are or what time it is, your website continues to work for your business,
by providing information about your products or services, it gives your customer a method to contact you,
and if you have your site setup for ecommerce, the customer can purchase your products.
- You can describe your products and services in as much detail as you wish without being
worried about the high cost of traditional ad space.
- Websites are focused to those that are already searching for your product or service.
With traditional print advertising, you normally broadcast your message to a broad audience,
and with luck you get your ad to the prospects that you are seeking.
- Websites last, you do not need to worry when you add a new product or decide to change your message, your
website can be updated for a fraction of the cost when compared to traditional advertising.
We are not saying that all other forms of advertising are useless.. Print advertising,
television/radio commercials, and direct mail will always have their place, and if you have an
advertising campaign that is bringing in customers – stick with it, just be sure to add your
new website address to all of your printed materials as well as is mentioned in all forms of your
advertising.
WHAT ABOUT THE COST?
Website design prices are competitive with the cost of designing print advertising. The
cost depends on the size of the site, special features, the designer's rates, and the number
of hours required to do the job. But this is true with any form of advertising. If you want
to have a print ad designed for a national magazine or just for a local newspaper insert,
you will still have to pay for the design, the copywriting, and the printing. The
complexity of the ad drives the price, just as it does with a website.
But after the initial design is done, websites are much, much cheaper than print ads. To
keep a small print ad in a daily paper or in a monthly magazine will cost you hundreds of
dollars per month. A full-page four color ad can cost thousands of dollars every month.
You can keep a website online for less than $10 per month. And it doesn't matter how
many colors you are using or how many pages the website contains.
DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS
Sooner or later, your business will have a website. The size of the focused viewing market and
the level of exposure you get, combined with the low costs, make it just too good of a deal to
pass up. There is no other form of advertising that offers you this tremendous level of market
access for less than $ .33 per day.
